Heeeeloooo?!
Very good. It has lots of words.
Multiple nuanced definitions and decent etymologies. I cannot complain.
Great dictionary and thesaurus combo!
Ive been using this app & another (big-name) dictionary both for a while; not daily, but as needed. Ive enjoyed that I dont have to be online to use it, and Ive loved for some unfamiliar words, how the Advanced English Dictionary also can give some history of the meaning(s) on the word. Recently, that other dictionary slipped in ads (not very subtle ones, either), &I went from free to charging to get back the ease of use that I expect in my apps. That one is now *gone*, and this AED app is my undisputed king of my dictionary apps. AED is an excellent dictionary app!
Useful and pleasant app.
Love the way they explain the definitions.
Every word I think of... and its there.
Available offline, easy to read definitions, offers specific - and more or less specific - words synonymous with whatever youve searched, along with origins and sometimes antonyms. Great app. :)
A very large database and a great new design for iOS 7 makes this an excellent app. Instantly fell in love with the icon. Well worth the 3 bucks for a universal app.

I am a native English speaker and wanted an advanced, but not learners dictionary. This dictionary is perfect for my needs. The way words are presented and cross-linked is innovative and useful. The only issue is that sometimes the definitions are a bit too general and dont provide enough detail to differentiate between synonyms.
Th app has a comprehensive dictionay that can help easily link synonyms and antonyms. Also nice is the feature of random word. Also can be used as a great word learning tool.
good offline dictionary. good examples of words.
Combination dictionary, thesaurus and idiom finder. Clean layout and browser-like interface give you a plethora (look it up in AED) of links and the ability to backtrack your findings. Fast and self-contained. + 196,000 entries. + Contains idiom definitions + Speaks pronunciations - Tends to open in portrait mode all the time - Some entries dont have a ton of responses
Ive been using it since it came out way back when on the iPhone and was happily surprised to find an iPad version last night. But being a 5 star app already in my eyes Ive got a few feature requests to make this app 100%. 1) Get rid of the action button in the top left and replace it with a plus since the only two available actions are "add bookmark" and "cancel". It would make the workflow muchhh smoother. 2) Fix the orientation issue, please! Even when AED is backgrounded via iOS multitasking, it always starts in portrait then cumbersomely reconfigures to the appropriate orientation. Make it so it runs consistent upon start up whenever the app is launched. 3) The bookmarks and history lists could be so much more useful by instead of displaying mere pop ups of the words to going to a new full screen layout displaying all the words with definitions and all other informations. 4) Lastly, it would be super awesomely useful to have iCloud support between the iPhone and iPad versions to sync history and bookmarks lists so I dont have to manually do it everytime I add a new word. Thank you, I hope you take my ideas and issues into consideration as I am of the opinion that these four ideas will make your dictionary apps surpass all offerings in the AppStore and beyond.
Fantastic reference site. Extremely comprehensive.
I find it very useful and handy when reading books, newspapers or documents on the go. It is fast , comprehensive and easy to use.
The pronunciation feature is not working!
